1906 FIRE

In the middle of winter in 1906, sawdust-insulated buildings broke into flames.  There wasn't enough fuel to heat up the frozen water pipes to put the fire out.  The Northern Commercial Company burned 2,000 pounds of bacon in its boilers, thereby raising the water pressure.
